We must protect local oil and gas jobs for working Los Angeles families!
Local oil and gas producers are an essential part of Los Angeles’ economy and provide jobs for working families, tax revenues for important community services and a safe, affordable and reliable energy supply for residents and businesses.
The Petroleum Administrator is expected to recommend increasing oil and gas production setbacks. A setback is a required separation between a building or a structure. This threatens to eliminate Los Angeles’ capacity to produce any oil and gas locally - where oil and gas producers operate under the strictest regulations in the world. These expanded setbacks would not improve public health or the environment.
Please urge the Los Angeles City Council, Mayor, and the Board of Public Works to examine the facts and OPPOSE any harmful new setback requirements.
