Measure P opponent calls oil initiative a ‘train wreck’

Citing a Santa Barbara County impact analysis report, Byrne noted that the county received more than $16 million last year in revenue generated from the oil and gas industry. Of that total, according to the report, about $10 million went to local schools and roughly $2 million went to county fire services. Having all of that funding suddenly disappear would be “a bitter pill to swallow,” he said.
