It’s important that we continue producing oil and gas domestically. Otherwise, we’ll be forced to rely more on imported energy, which can cost much more and comes from overseas on tanker ships or from other states by train. Those imported sources do not follow the same high environmental standards that we have in California, nor do our local governments benefit from oil and gas taxes generated in other states.
